About the Garden
Ti
Kouka Garden is a lovely sub tropical garden on the waterfront
of Anzac Bay, in the far reaches of Putiki Bay, on
Waiheke Island. The garden has a gorgeous gazebo
and sizeable flat lawn making it the perfect venue for a romantic
wedding ceremony and marquee reception.
The gazebo has a thatched roof and is suitable for the wedding ceremony and, if necessary, shelter for musicians afterwards. The gazebo can be dressed according to the theme of your wedding with garlands of flowers, organza drapes, or left merely plain. The garden contains an attractive water feature of Waiheke rock.
The pohutukawa tree behind the gazebo is lit with pretty fairy lights at night and the Californian redwood tree is spot-lit, as is the water feature, making for a magical atmosphere for an evening reception.
Because Anzac Bay is a tidal beach, the wedding can be arranged at a time when the tide is in. Unlike other beaches, there are no breaking waves, which can affect the sound on your videos or film. Instead, there is a rather tranquil outlook across the water.
Marquees can be the well known style, lined with tulle, or they can be a beautiful maharaja style tent.
Ti Kouka venue can accommodate up to 50 guests (including the bridal party) seated, or up to 80 informally. We can recommend caterers or you can arrange your own. We have garden seating for guests during the ceremony if required. For signing the register, we provide a beautiful hand-made wedding table and two seater bench made by a local Waiheke wood artist, Don Stodart.
We are able to recommend local or Auckland based marriage celebrants, florists, photographers, musicians, and planners. There are many accommodation options ranging from back packers, holiday homes and luxury lodges. The Waiheke motel is just a stroll away and there are holiday homes nearby, including one next door.
Getting to Waiheke Island
We welcome your visit to view this lovely beach-front wedding venue. To get to Waiheke Island from Auckland, there is a very pleasant 35 minute ferry ride on the Waitemata harbour from downtown Auckland and approximately 15 minutes from the Waiheke Ferry Terminal, by taxi, to our door. Buses coinciding with the ferry arrival also leave from the terminal. Alternatively, there is a vehicular ferry from Half Moon Bay to Waiheke, with the wharf being approximately 7 minutes from our door.
Availablility
Ti Kouka Garden is available from November – December and February – March.
